This two-day training course focuses on the environmental objective 'climate action' and outlines strategies for reducing emissions in the property sector – in particular, how to achieve carbon neutrality in buildings.
You will learn how to identify the data required to classify buildings into climate action categories and how to draft and apply building-specific climate action roadmaps in accordance with the DGNB Framework for Carbon Neutral Buildings and Sites (revised version from 2026). Even if you are using the 2020 version of the DGNB framework within the context of older systems, this training course will help familiarise you with the DGNB's core principles for developing a climate action roadmap. The requirements for existing buildings as well as new construction and renovation projects aiming to achieve carbon neutral operation and use, will be covered.
In addition, you will gain an understanding of the key aspects involved in drafting a climate action roadmap, as well as how to transfer these into the DGNB CO2 accounting tool. The development of a climate action roadmap is an integral part of various DGNB Systems. Depending on the system and version, it is either a mandatory or optional component of the certification process.
You will also gain insights into the practical application of technical monitoring through an engaging technical presentation. You will learn how the continuous, metrology-based monitoring of technical systems can optimise building operations and help to achieve climate goals.

The Expert Know-How – Climate Action Roadmap for Carbon Neutral Buildings course is part of the DGNB Auditor for Buildings In Use training, although it can also be booked separately (even without admission restrictions) as a training program for any interested parties.
The DGNB Auditor for Buildings In Use training spans three modules (Expert Know-How – Climate Action Roadmap for Carbon Neutral Buildings, Expert Know-How – Sustainable Buildings In Use and Certification Know-How – Sustainable Buildings In Use) and, after successful completion of the exam, qualifies participants to submit Building In Use projects to the DGNB for certification.

The event will take place online via Zoom. You can conveniently log in with the dial-in link via the browser (no need to download the Zoom app) or the Zoom app. You can participate via desktop PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
We recommend using a PC or laptop with a camera, loudspeaker and microphone (alternatively: headset with microphone) as well as a stable internet connection. If you have problems with the audio quality, you can also dial in via a telephone.
You will receive your dial-in data two to three workdays in advance.
