EU Taxonomy: Handling Selected Environmental Objectives

A detailed look at the requirements and evidence of the EU taxonomy for the environmental objectives ‘Climate change adaptation’ and ‘Pollution prevention and control’

This half-day training course will provide you with insight into how to approach the environmental objectives of ‘Climate change adaptation’ and ‘Pollution prevention and control’. Using examples, we will explain the respective requirements and frameworks and show you what evidence you need to provide.

This course is held in German.

The Subject Know-How – EU Taxonomy: Handling Selected Environmental Objectivescourse is part of DGNB-Examined Expert on EU Taxonomy training, although it can also be booked separately (even without admission restrictions) as a staff training course for any interested parties.

The DGNB-Examined Expert on EU Taxonomy training course spans three modules (Subject Know-How – EU Taxonomy: Fundamentals on Climate Policy and Risks in the Real Estate Sector, Subject Know-How – EU Taxonomy: ESG-Compliant Real Estate and Subject Know-How – EU Taxonomy: Handling Selected Environmental Objectives) and, after successful completion of the exam, qualifies participants to submit projects for ESG Verification for the EU Taxonomy.

*Please note that practically carrying out a climate risk analysis is not part of the training content.

Learning objectives and skills taught in relation to the environmental objective ‘Climate change adaptation’:

  • You will understand the process of climate-related hazard and risk analysis
  • You will be able to recognise sound climate risk analyses and identify the key aspects they must include
  • You will be familiar with practical approaches for developing adaptation solutions

 

Learning objectives and skills taught in relation to the environmental objective ‘Pollution prevention and control’:

  • You understand the requirements for the environmental objective ‘Pollution prevention and control’ and what must be considered when providing evidence
  • You are familiar with the definitions of pollutants and emissions

After you have completed the two modules Subject Know-How – EU Taxonomy: ESG-Compliant Real Estate and Subject Know-How – EU Taxonomy: Handling Selected Environmental Objectives), you have the option of taking a 30-minute exam to acquire the DGNB-Examined Expert on EU Taxonomy title. Attendance at the Subject Know-How module 'EU Taxonomy: Fundamentals of Climate Policy and Risks in the Real Estate Industry' is optional. However, the training course content is covered in the exam. Depending on your learning style and prior knowledge, self-study preparation typically takes 15 to 20 hours.

The 30-minute exam consists of a total of 27 questions and is taken online. The questions are multiple choice. A score of at least 70 percent is required to pass the exam.

Participation in the exam is not compulsory if you are already a certified DGNB Consultant or DGNB Auditor.

Admission requirements: The exam can only be taken after attending the above-mentioned modules on EU taxonomy. You must take the exam no later than 24 months after participating in these modules.

It is not necessary to fulfil any admission requirements.
If you decide to take the DGNB-Examined Expert on EU Taxonomy training course, you will need to provide evidence. You can find out more here. 

The event will take place online via Zoom. You can conveniently log in with the dial-in link via the browser (no need to download the Zoom app) or the Zoom app. You can participate via desktop PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone.

We recommend using a PC or laptop with a camera, loudspeaker and microphone (alternatively: headset with microphone) as well as a stable internet connection. If you have problems with the audio quality, you can also dial in via a telephone.

You will receive your dial-in data two to three workdays in advance.

This event has been submitted to the Deutsche Energie-Agentur (dena) – the German Energy Agency – and the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects for recognition as continuing professional development (CPD). Submission for recognition by the Chamber of Architects of North Rhine-Westphalia is possible upon request up to two weeks before the start of the training.
