The building and real estate industry but also the building stock have a key role to play in implementing the Paris Climate Agreement in Germany. The operation of our buildings alone is responsible for around 30 per cent of the country's greenhouse gas emissions. A climate neutral building stock by 2050 is also a goal of the EU Green Deal.
But what does it take to achieve carbon neutrality? How can one building make a difference? What options already exist for designing carbon neutral buildings and how can these be applied and implemented in practice?
The DGNB seminars on 'Carbon Neutral Buildings' cover multifunctional roof concepts through greening and photovoltaics, the optimisation of emissions from traditional building materials such as steel and concrete, dealing with existing buildings and monument protection and the efficient decarbonisation of portfolios in residential construction.
