Consense on course for expansion

International congress and trade fair for sustainable building in Stuttgart

Consense, the international congress and trade fair for sustainable building, is continuing on its path of expansion. Now in its third year, the event is a firmly established feature on the trade fair scene and is covering what was once a gap in this market with its main themes. And on 22 and 23 June 2010, the event will be once again presenting the latest developments in the area of sustainability at Messe Stuttgart.

With 1,600 visitors over two days, Consense 2009 exceeded all expectations. This year will be offering even more with an attractive programme organised and an expansion of the previous exhibition to reach specialist trade fair status. Exhibitors will be presenting the latest developments and current trends from the area of sustainable building with many of the main players from the building and property industry, such as Arcadis, Bilfinger Berger, Schüco, Zumtobel Licht, Armstrong DLW, Lindner AG, Keimfarben and Union Investment Real Estate, already scheduled to take part. There will also be an additional presentation platform with the pavilion "Technical Forum on Sun Protection Systems". Sun protection is playing an increasingly important role and offers, also with a view to current energy discussions, enormous saving potential. Further pavilions are currently being organised.

Taking place at the same time as the specialist trade fair will be the international congress for sustainable building. Under the motto "Sustainability – quo vadis?", internationally recognised experts and prominent figures in the building and property industry will present the various perspectives. Speakers at the event include Peter Rich from Johannesburg, Stephen Kieran from Philadelphia, as well as Herbert Reul and Ursula Hartenberger, both from Brussels. In the plenum, themes such as the macro and micro perspectives for sustainability or the added benefit and measurability of sustainable building will be addressed. People and where they live is another theme, as is future technologies and sustainable processes. The top-class programme is available now at http://www.dgnb.de/de/veranstaltungen/consense/2010/programm.php. Visitors have the option of attending the congress and specialist trade fair separately.

On both trade fair days, visitors will have the opportunity to delve deeper into the various themes during the workshops. And there really is something for everyone at Consense 2010. This year's event is providing all those involved in sustainable building, from architects, planners, project steerers and principals to investors, municipalities, manufacturers and universities, with a unique platform to find out first-hand about the latest developments in the area of sustainability and to establish new contacts. The event, organised by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and Messe Stuttgart, really will be living up to its reputation as leading congress and trade fair for sustainable building – with the added bonus of an excellent location connecting directly to the rail network, the A8 motorway and Stuttgart Airport.

A special offer awaits those who like to act fast: congress participants who register by 30 April receive a discount on all two-day tickets!
