BAU is the World's Leading Trade Fair for Architecture, Materials and Systems, which takes place from 11 – 16 January 2021 in Munich, Germany.

Global challenges such as climate change or the depletion of resources demand effective answers, especially in the construction sector.

The DGNB offers approaches and solutions to topics such as the circular economy and strategies for climate-neutral construction, so that sustainability becomes the new norm.

The United Nations Climate Change Conference, better known as the so called Conference of the Parties (COP), is an annual conference within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, hosted by a different country each year. As Europe's largest network for sustainable building, DGNB is involved in numerous activities at the COP. The aim is to raise awareness for the importance of sustainable building in the context of climate change mitigation and adaptation and to show how this can be implemented in practice.

As part of the COP25 World Climate Change Conference in Madrid on 12 December 2019, the Building Sense Now Global Awards were presented for the first time – for more information click here.

The Munich real estate trade fair Expo Real 2022 will take place from 4 to 6 October. The DGNB will once again be exhibiting with the Bundearchitektenkammer (BAK), the aukosteninformationszentrum Deutscher Architektenkammern (BKI) at stand A2.334.

BAU China is the leading trade fair for window, door and facade solutions in China. More than 650 exhibitors focus on products, technologies and practical solutions in the door and fenestration industry and enable business exchange between manufacturers and project developers, architects, planners, and distributors. The established BAU Congress China is integrated into FBC. The annual exhibition is alternating between Shanghai and Beijing.

The German Sustainability Award is the national award for excellence in sustainability in business, municipalities and research. With eight competitions (including the Next Economy Award for "green founders"), over 800 applicants and 2,000 guests to the events, the prize is the largest of its kind in Europe. The award is presented by the Stiftung Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis e.V. in cooperation with the German Government, local and business associations as well as numerous NGOs, among them UNESCO and UNICEF.

From 2020, the awards will be even more strongly orientated towards the goals of Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.

The DNP is awarded on German Sustainability Day, which has evolved into the leading international convention on sustainability since 2008. The event, with more than 150 speakers, connects relevant stakeholders, allowing them to exchange and benefit from each other's experiences.

In 2012, together with the DGNB, a special award category for sustainable building was introduced. The German Sustainability Award for Architecture honors outstanding and exemplary achievements in architecture, which were developed on the basis of the three pillars of sustainability - ecology, economy and social issues - and which also demonstrates a high level of design quality and innovation.

ISH is the world´s leading trade fair focusing on the responsible management of water and energy in buildings. It brings market leaders of the industry together, who will present their new technologies, solutions and latest products to their professional audience and launch them on the world market. The exhibition takes place every two years in Frankfurt, Germany.

The German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), as a partner of the ISH, offers guided tours in cooperation with exhibiting member organisations during the trade fair. Several organisations present their contribution to sustainable building based on practical solutions and examples of usage.
