DGNB Education Program

The integration of sustainability aspects into the design and construction of buildings is becoming increasingly crucial to the planning process. More and more building owners and investors want to incorporate environmental, economic, sociocultural and functional considerations into the planning, construction, and operation of their buildings. The complexity of this undertaking requires sound expertise. The DGNB Academy provides this specific know-how, creating new opportunities and perspectives in the growing future market of sustainable building for all interested parties, from all sectors of the building industry.

Internationalization

Following the rapid internationalization of its highly flexible Core Certification System – through an adaptation procedure based on European Standards – the DGNB (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen e.V.), together with its partner organizations, has initiated a series of international training courses aimed at promoting a common language on sustainability. These courses open up new opportunities for participants in the promising future market of sustainable building.

The English-language curriculum for the DGNB's new foundation training course is currently focused on the “New Office and Administrative Buildings – Version 2010” scheme, and is aimed at all professionals working in the planning and construction industry.

Note: This International Education Program is intended for building industry experts who want to consult and audit projects in countries which do not currently have their own specific adaptation of the DGNB System. In Austria, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Denmark, and Germany, where the DGNB System has already been adopted, country-specific training is offered to become a DGNB Consultant or Auditor with the authorization to operate in that particular country.
