DGNB International Board

Ensuring quality. Across the globe.
The DGNB International Board was established first and foremost to ensure the quality of the DGNB certification system in its adaptations for other countries. The board is composed of members of the DGNB and its international partner organizations. In addition to quality control, their responsibilities include system maintenance and development, and working to ensure that target, reference and limit values of the system are comparable across all countries.

Well-organized.  Clearly regulated.
Every DGNB partner organization is allowed a maximum of two representatives on the DGNB International Board. A prerequisite for the right to vote is an established Cooperation Contract. Organizations which have signed a Memorandum of Understanding or submitted and Expression of Interest so far may participate in board meetings, but are not able to vote. Meetings take place at least twice per year, at a time and place chosen by the chairperson of the International Board. The chairperson will be elected for a term of two years by the members of the board, and will be supported at board meetings (as well as in other duties) by the DGNB Office in Germany. The same applies to the chairperson’s representative.

The first meeting of the DGNB International Board was held in Stuttgart on April 9, 2010, and was attended by professionals representing Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Thailand, Bulgaria, Russia, and Slovenia. A constructive discussion was held about the structure of the international adaptation of the system, and the introduction of quality safeguards and mutual operational support were agreed upon. The next board meeting will take place at Consense 2010.
